Sinopsis
“Hilitos de Sangre” es un documental colectivo en el que trece cineastas de diferentes partes del mundo, cuentan y muestran su historia personal sobre la menstruación. El documental ensayístico reúne diferentes formatos como videocartas, videollamadas y material de archivo. Todas las voces, miradas e historias tan particulares dialogan entre sí, cuestionándose muchos de los tabúes que existen alrededor del tema, desde la ausencia del tema en el cine hasta las implicaciones de menstruar, como el síndrome premenstrual, los dolores, los cambios emocionales, el placer. Es un retrato íntimo de las diferentes maneras de vivir y pensar la menstruación.
“Threads of Blood” is a collective documentary in which thirteen filmmakers from different parts of the world share and showcase their personal stories about menstruation. The essayistic documentary brings together various formats such as video letters, video calls, and archival material. All the unique voices, perspectives, and stories engage in a dialogue, questioning many of the taboos surrounding the topic, from the absence of the subject in cinema to the implications of menstruation, such as premenstrual syndrome, pain, emotional changes, and pleasure. It is an intimate portrait of the different ways of experiencing and understanding menstruation

Maki Görnemann Chávez
Maki Görnemann Chávez nació en Guadalajara, Jalisco, México en 1993. Entre 2012 y 2017 estudió la Licenciatura en Comunicación y Arte Audiovisual en el ITESO (Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente) en Guadalajara, México. Entre 2018 y 2021 estudió una Maestría en Cine en la HFBK (Hochschule für bildende Kunst) en Hamburgo. Ha trabajado en varios proyectos cinematográficos en México, principalmente como editora, así como ha realizado sus propios cortometrajes como directora.
Maki Görnemann Chávez was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, in 1993. Between 2012 and 2017, she studied a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Audiovisual Arts at ITESO (Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente) in Guadalajara, Mexico. Between 2018 and 2021, she pursued a Master's degree in Film at HFBK (Hochschule für bildende Kunst) in Hamburg. She has worked on various film projects in Mexico, primarily as an editor, and has also directed her own short films.

2018 “Fragen an I Ching| “Questions to the I Ching” (8 min, Germany). Cinema poetry. 8mm films found in my grandmother's drawers, questions and sounds that surround me.
The short film was part of the festival's film screening Zebra Poetry Film Festival in Berlin in 2019.

2017 “La Ventana”| “The window” (14 min, México). Fiction short film. A lonely woman does her daily chores, while looking out the window. She takes care of her father who cannot walk. Both are needed, but the space and the body have become a prison for both.

2016 “Sinfonía del recuerdo”|”Memory Symphony” (12 min, México). Documentary shortfilm.
A piano that has forgotten its sounds, a camera that has seen a girl grow up with the same piano, images and films, a motorcycle ride as a tribute to Nanni Moretti, they mix with each other and make this symphony of memory.
